No separate Paste mask layers
The paste mask layer is a layer on PCB design that represents where solder paste and this layer is not equal to a copper layer. See this video https://youtu.be/uXvXwzQf1gU?t=288
The most usual problem that users will face because of that is lifting IC by surface tension in QFN package and some other packages with a big central pad. More details in this article https://www.eeworldonline.com/qfn-center-pads-on-pcb-boards/
And in Flux we have a lot of QFN already

What feature are you requesting here?
We already support paste and solder mask layers and configuring the expansion of it

Matthias: Just expansion is not enough. Big pads require several rectangles(or other shapes see pic#3) of solder paste instead of one big piece in the center. Your component can "sail" away on a big drop of tin instead of being attracted by the capillarity effect
Matthias
Vasyl Skral: gotcha
any other related features you miss?
V
Vasyl Skral
Matthias: same for solder mask, it should be independent layers
sometimes you need solder mask opening like on Flux Card. But it's not only for art
For example, you also need open traces for high current nets it will increase heat emission in this area(cooling)
Also this related too https://fluxai.canny.io/featurerequests/p/mechanicaleco-layers-displayed-as-silkscreen
because right now Flux has only 2 types of layers: copper and silkscreen
