It's in an internal comment, but the summary is that when you search "resistor" for instance, there's a bunch of results but it's not clear what the difference is between them and also quickly useable options don't appear. One idea for what the user is expecting is a list of resistors of different resistance value, and then they get the idea to search for other specific values. Generic covers a lot of this use-case, but again it's not clear that generic resistor does anything special.
