I want to address a similar issue I've faced.

If your footprint contains a rectangle(or rounded rectangle pads) through-hope pads then the hole of this pad will be smaller than expected. And as result in some cases, the hole will be too small to fit your part(in these examples connectors) and PCB will be useless

I have failed pcb plated and waste some money with this.
