Cannot delete a component from the PCB
closed

I added a generic smd resistor to my PCB without adding it to the schematic. I cannot delete this component. It is not locked. I can rotate it, move it etc. I have tried to lock it and unlock it, but the delete button is always disabled and I cannot get rid of the component. The component is called R5 in my PCB and I have moved it out of the physical PCB layout.

This used to be a bug before. It was solved. It's back again.
We need a behaviour test to cover this use case. I can't believe there is one or the test would fail.

Graham Jenkins-Smith: Hey, are you still experiencing this issue?

Hi Jharwin - thanks for getting back to me. I've added Support to the project. Regards, Farahad.

Farahad Zama: Thanks! Can you give "support" edit access to the project? I can view the project, but I can't do any edits.
Btw, I've cloned the project on my account, and I was able to repro the issue that I can't delete R5 from the PCB editor, but I was able to delete it from schematic then it eventually disappear on pcb.

Hi Jharwin, the 'Can Edit' option is greyed out for support. I cant find R5 in the PCB. I added the component directly into the schematic rather than add it to the schematic first (which was probably a mistake). Where was it in your cloned project?
Jharwin
Farahad Zama: You should be fine adding a component either directly from schematic or pcb editor. There's nothing wrong about that.
Anyway, these are screenshots from your project. R5 is located at the same spot in the cloned version of your project.

Jharwin - Found it. Thank you for your help. You probably need to fix it so people can delete it from the PCB as well as the schematic, but my issue has been resolved.

Hey Farahad Zama, thanks for the report. Sorry you're having issues with your project. Would you mind adding our 'support' account access to your project so I can try to reproduce it on our end?
